Even though we are the No.3 in Test ranking and hovering around No. 4 or 5 spot in ODI ranking yet we're not getting enough matches against teams like Australia to test our talent ot the ability. It's really a disadvantage too. So It's our chance to get used to Australian players since ICC World cup around the corner and most importantly having to play a match against Aussies in the first round.
If we consider the current form we're in and Aussies, clearly we're on top. Having beaten by Indians in both Test and ODI's Aussies will be step or two town at the moment. We should take the advantage of it and play well to put Aussies another step down.
But it's not easy since we have to play under Australian conditions and surrounded by their huge crowed.
In batting department Aussies still finding difficulties to get their combination's right where we almost settled the matter with Dilshan and Mahela or Upul opening and Sanga, and others in the middle order.
Bowling department is also a worry for Aussies since Bollinger is not 100% fit and Brett Lee is not sure for the game. We do have a very good bowling attack with Murali, Randiv as spinners and Malinga and Dilhara with pace and Kulasekara the ever so reliable in seaming pitches.
But what got in to my mind now is although we have the better combination in our team still it's difficult to beat Australians.
We have to wait another 3 days to witness what could be a Do-or-Die battle in Australian soil.
